At what stage is technology in water treatment and how has it progressed in the last 12 years?

We can evaluate the situation based on an installation to recycle water implemented in June 2016 in NJ – USA.

Approximately 10 km from another installation implemented 12 years before!

FORMIA MARBLE AND STONE is one of our oldest clients for whom we installed the first supply in 2004: a water treatment system, the MINI COMPACT M, with a K5 full bridge saw, an AIRECO suction cabin, and an Easy Fast polishing arm and jib crane.

We returned in 2016 to install another bridge saw, another Easy Fast polishing arm and another jib crane and to conduct ordinary maintenance of the treatment plant.

STONE QUEST: is a new client with which friendly relations developed immediately in line with our philosophy, the DP Factor.

We installed version 2.0, the most recent, of the Mini Compact L that has greatly improved compared to the previous version.

It was the right occasion to reflect and evaluate the situation of the currently available situations, compared to the past, for stone and ceramic machining laboratories requiring an efficient water treatment and sludge dehydration system.

Technological development in a determined sector takes place for three clearly identifiable reasons:

How has progress influenced our product?

1. Progress upstream that makes new technologies available;

  • pneumatic filter press closure cylinder transformed into hydraulic, enabling performance stability;
  • the control panel with external manual commands became a coloured touch-screen with operating outline to enable much simpler and more immediate management;
  • sludge discharge valve from normally open to normally closed, avoiding breakages and unpleasant sludge leaks;
  • new filter press supply pump now available without lubrication of the air, decreasing the maintenance required.

 

2. Change downstream that creates new requirements:

  • coagulant station to encourage settling of the engineered stone material in constant growth;
  • new software that enables setting of automatic start-up and the duration of filter pressing by saving resources;
  • remote control to offer immediate support around the world

 

3. Direct progress, continuous research into simplicity and efficiency:

  • Filter press support from open to completely closed, maintaining the work area clean and easily accessible for maintenance and avoiding contamination of the flocculant;
  • Teflon supports electric box avoiding rust formation due to direct contact with the box and the platform;
  •  Drip collection tanks collecting all the drops during pressing and pre-opening and avoiding wetting the just dehydrated sludge to ease disposal operations;
  • Ladder inside cylinder to enable climbing up and down the cylinder in full autonomy in the event of possible extraordinary maintenance.

The most important thing is that both customers are happy and satisfied about water treatment and they car run easily and efficiently their companies.
